Javier Chavez, a Peruvian born but raised in different countries due to his parents diplomatic work, has been the founder and president of King of Kings Ministries Association (2001-2013), a Christian non-profit organization that works among the most needy families of Peru reaching the poorest areas of the city, planting feeding centers, developing after school programs, providing spiritual and psychological assistance to families as well as involving each local community in the development of projects and actions to improve the life of the community dwellers. Due to his leadership skills and ability to work with multicultural initiatives, Javier went from being a local leader to fill the position of National Director to then be appointed Regional Director for South America within the International Non-Profit Organization World Challenge, Inc. with headquarters in Colorado Springs, CO.
Javier holds a Bachelor of Arts from Lee University (Cleveland, TN) in Religion and Social Sciences; a Master of Arts degree from Wheaton College Graduate School (Chicago, IL) in Historical Studies; a second Masters in Humanities from Antonio Ruiz de Montoya University (Lima, Peru) with a concentration on Social and Economic Anthropology.
His decision to return to the US in 2014 obeyed to his desire to take time to pursue doctoral studies and enrich his past experience in cross-cultural efforts entering into a new field that captivates him: the field of multicultural banking. Javier and his family lived in Los Angeles, CA for a year where he began a PhD program in Multicultural Studies at the Cook School of Intercultural Studies of Biola University. In January 2015 Javier relocated to Gainesville, GA where he currently works for BB&T as a Hispanic Market Leader for the Gainesville area. In September of 2015, after receiving a personal invitation from Dr. Bill Coates, Javier became the Hispanic Pastor at First Baptist Church in Gainesville, GA.
Javier has been happily married to Noelia for fifteen years and together they have four beautiful children.
