In November, George Ordway, Ph.D., PA-C, will hand over the responsibilities as Chairman of the Board of Directors to Carroll Turner, Ph.D. Dr. Ordway has selflessly served NGHF as Chairman for the past two years. Under his leadership, NGHF has grown to an independent 501c(3) nonprofit and become the leading CPR training entity for north Georgia.
In the 2015-2016 academic year, Dr. Ordway was responsible for training every Hall County Schools 12th grade student in hands-only CPR — a total of 1,240 students, and continues that training in the current academic year. He has forged strong strategic partnerships with many organizations in north Georgia to ensure that anyone who wants to be trained on life-saving CPR can get it. While Dr. Ordway is stepping aside as Chairman, he will continue to serve on the Board and continue working to spread CPR education throughout the region.
NGHF is excited for the chapter ahead with Dr. Turner as our chairman. Dr. Turner has a long-standing career in medical device development and business start-up. As Director of the Business Incubator, he has seen it become a premier business incubator and is looking forward to continuing his work with a collaborative focus in partnership with the University of Georgia, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of North Georgia, Brenau University and Northeast Georgia Health System within the north Georgia community.
