A managing partner with Hulsey, Oliver & Mahar, LLP, Tom Calkins received his Bachelor in Business Administration degree in Management from Emory University and his J.D. degree from the University of Georgia School of Law. As an American Bar Association member, he is also a member of the organization’s Labor and Employment, Real Property, Probate and Trust sections. Calkins is a member of the State Bar of Georgia (member of Labor and Employment Law section), the Gainesville-Northeastern Circuit Bar Association and the Gainesville Area Employer committee. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Gainesville, a former member of the Session of the First Presbyterian Church and a volunteer youth coach for the YMCA and Gainesville Park and Recreation.
I became involved with the Heart Foundation because my family has a history of heart disease (my Dad died of a heart attack at 59). I think that it important for our children and grandchildren that we educate them on how to avoid risk factors for the disease and devise new treatments to defeat the disease in North Georgia.
